The Makeup Show Houston!!

by

Oh my goodness!

It’s that time of the year again! The Makeup Show is coming back to Texas and this time it will be at Houston! Yeee. This event is open to pros and aspiring artists working or studying in the beauty, hair, photography or fashion industry. Just in case you didn’t know, The Makeup Show is a two-day event the features new makeup and skincare brands.

If you’re anything like me and is looking to learn something new, The Makeup Show has keynote speakers that will talk about the HOTTEST BEAUTY TRENDS in today’s industry! By attending the keynote seminars, you will be able to learn tips, tricks and techniques for your career growth and much more with legendary artists like: Kevin James Bennett, Pati Dubroff, Ashunta Sheriff, Sam Fine and Danessa Myricks!

Now, if keynote seminars are not your thing, there will be a ton of artists and like-minded people in the beauty industry surrounding you as you walk around and explore the workshops and beauty brands. Also, if you’re more hands-on, there will be workshops for you to take part in too! What I love about The Makeup Show is that there is something for everyone at the show.

Ok, now that you know a little bit about The Makeup Show, I always get excited about attending every year and I want to share something cool that they are doing this year… and it has to do with SKINCARE!

As you may know, the demand for having “perfect skin” is at an all-time high and this year The Makeup Show will showcase the top skincare brands and have some educational seminars about it.

The skincare brands that will be at the show are:

PERRICONE MD

  • This brand is known for being a holistic three-tiered skincare and wellness system. Perricone MD created products with some of the most powerful ingredients on the planet and are New York Time’s best selling products!

ELVIS + ELVIN

  • Created in 2014 by NYC-based esthetician and herbal medicine guru, Victoria Leung. Elvis + Elvin has become a very known brand in the skincare industry made with natural ingredients and cutting edge technology!

MARIO BADESCU SKIN CARE

  • With over 50 years in the industry, Mario Badescu has been the go-to brand for acne solutions, anti-aging and sensitive skin. The brand is known for their simple, gentle and effective skincare!

TWINMEDIX

  • Twinmedix is dedicated for creating pure, professional and advanced formulas for the daily care and protection of your skin. They will be premiering their top products at the show!

These are a few booths you can’t miss because there will be exclusive deals that you can take advantage of for being at the show! There will be a ton of great deals at the show and I definitely recommend going especially if you want to shop the best deals and walk away with some amazing knowledge about what is trending! *doing the happy dance*

I will be attending the show this year with some of my best buddies in the makeup industry and we hope to see and maybe meet you there! Every year just keeps getting better and better and I know this one will be insane because it’s going to be in HOUSTON! I’m excited and I hope you are too!

♥ SEE YOU AT THE SHOW!

Although I have received this care package courtesy from Urban Decay, I’ve been putting aside some of the items from previous PR packages so that I can host quite a few giveaways at the end of this year for you. ♥

application tips

EYESHADOW PALETTE: The eyeshadows are creamy and I didn’t notice fall out each time I used the palette. All of the eyeshadows apply well alone with no eyeshadow base but if you would like your eyeshadows to pop and appear more intense, I would suggest using the Urban Decay Primer Potion before applying the eyeshadows. You can also sprits your brush with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray that is featured in this collection to help intensify these shadows as well. I personally don’t mind applying these shadows without a primer though.

VICE LIPSTICKS: Just like the other Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks, these are creamy and highly pigmented. These can be worn alone but I do suggest applying some kind of lip liner underneath to create some kind of dimension to your lips.

EYE PENCILS: If you haven’t tried these, let me just mention that these eyeliners are really WATERPROOF! Before I go on a tangent, let me just say that these eye liners are creamy to the touch and are filled with so much pigment that one swipe will give you the intensity that you need. These eyeliners are super blendable but just know that once it sets, IT SETS! What I wanted to mention earlier was that I use the Urban Decay Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero and Perversion on all of my makeup clients and it lasts all day! These are a Pro Makeup Artist staple!

final thoughts/recommendations

I LOVE IT because there is something for everyone! This collection has everything you will need for any makeup look and the palette literally has every shade you need to bring on a trip. As far as the eyeliners and vice lipsticks, if you don’t think any of the shades in this collection is something you are not interested in or simply think it will not work for you, there are a ton of other shades in both the vice lipsticks and the glide-on eye pencils for you to choose from from the Urban Decay permanent line of cosmetics.

If I had to recommend one item for you to pick up, it will definitely be the eyeshadow palette. Simply because it has 21 shades that are versatile and you can create a ton of looks. I love the huge mirror – it’ll be convenient when you take it with you anywhere! Also, the packaging is inspiring and can serve as a motivation to travel the world!

Make Up For Ever extended their shades!

If you haven’t seen my post of the first launch of Make Up For Ever’s Artist Liquid Matte Lipsticks, they launched their first 6 shades in this collection months agao and I recommended picking at least one shade to try… And now Make Up For Ever introduced 9 more shades in addition to the 6 shades they released months ago. The shade extension has more bright and vibrant colors for the bold and daring folks that want that extra oomph to their look.

Instead of taking full product photos, I did a quick 1-minute video on Instagram showcasing the new shades instead. 🙂 My thoughts about these Artist Matte Liquid Lipsticks remain the same and I’m still obsessed with them. If you’d like to see my full review, see my first post about the first 6 shades here.

Throwback to a look I did on Instagram!

I didn’t realize that I haven’t shared one of my favorite and one of my most colorful makeup looks on here. You already know that it’s a “My Little Pony” inspired makeup look by the title of this post. I used the exclusive PUR Cosmetics My Little Pony: The Movie Makeup Collection that was sent to me for consideration. I was super excited to try all of the products that I totally forgot to take product photos. *smh*

I also did a 1-minute time lapse video on my Instagram (linked below) of me applying the makeup and creating this makeup look. This was an unplanned makeup look – I just wanted to go with the flow and see what I would create on the spot and I love how it turned out. I hope you like the vibrancy too. ♥
