Hey beauty! I am so excited to share my first-ever Play! by Sephora Beauty Box with you today. In this post, I include a video with my raw first impressions of the November 2015 Play! by Sephora Beauty Box as well as close up photos of the individual products. In the video, I mention a fun fact of each product and in this post I’ll mention Sephora’s “did you know?” tidbit of each product so this post won’t be redundant. *winks!

First things first, if you are unfamiliar with this beauty subscription service it is: “PLAY! by SEPHORA is a subscription box program. Each month we deliver six coveted products, a PLAY! BOOK of tips and tricks, and a PLAY! PASS for in-store learning — all to your doorstep.” — Sephora

Follow Your Rose…

Stella McCartney Stella EDP - Play! by Sephora

Stella McCartney Stella Eau de Parfum

The first thing I noticed in my Play! by Sephora box is the Stella McCartney Stella Eau de Parfum spray. Personally, I’ve never been a fan of this scent on me because my body chemistry doesn’t work well with it. I’m more of a Juicy Couture, Prada Candy, and Dahlia Divin by Givenchy kind of girl. But since Winter is right around the corner, I’ll definitely give this another shot to see how it works. It smells good, it just doesn’t work with my chemistry.

Did you know? Stella McCartney does not use any animal or animal-derived ingredients in any of her clothing, accessories, or fragrances.

Show Your Blue Colors…

Sephora Collection Eye Pencil in My Boyfriends Jeans - Play! by Sephora

Sephora Collection Eye Pencil in My Boyfriends Jeans

Next, I got the Sephora Collection Contour Eye Pencil in My Boyfriend’s Jeans. I already own a full-size version of this eyeliner and I use it a lot in my waterline. This mini eyeliner will be my back-up. Also, these eyeliners remind me of the Make Up For Ever Eyeliners but more affordable. Quick tip: When you wear blue in your waterline, it will enhance the whites of your eyes and make them appear brighter. Same goes for blue-based lipsticks, it makes your teeth appear whiter.

Did you know? Eyeliner isn’t just about a smoky or cat eye. Get adventurous with your look and try jet wings, tri-liner, double wings, fish tails, or the Cleopatra tilt.

A Pigment of Your Imagination…

Bite Beauty High Pigment Lip Pencil in Rhubarb - Play! by Sephora

Bite Beauty High Pigment Lip Pencil in Rhubarb

I also got the Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Rhubarb. I personally own this lipstick too! I love Bite Lipsticks, they are very hydrating and very natural. They are simply amazing. These are edible, just imagine how much lipstick we consume throughout the years of using lip products… these lipsticks are natural enough to be consumed. That makes me feel good, do you feel the same way?

Did you know? Going to be in NYC? Stop by Bite Beauty’s Lip Lab in Soho to get the ultimate experience in lip color and create your own custom shade.

Partner in Prime…

Make Up For Ever Step 1 Hydrating Primer - Play! by Sephora

Make Up For Ever Step 1 Hydrating Primer

The next thing I got is the Make Up For Ever Step 1 Hydrating Primer. This deluxe sample of the Make Up For Ever primer will last a while because with primer, you only need a tiny bit. I personally have tried this primer beforehand, I love it! It has a cooling sensation to it because of the hydrating aspect of the primer. Winter is around the corner and this will be perfect!!!

Did you know? When Sephora began selling Make Up For Ever in France, founder and Parisian Dany Sanz visited the store so she could give her first customers a kiss on the cheek!

Show Lips Who’s Gloss…

Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in Dolly - Play! by Sephora

Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in Dolly

I also got the Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in Dolly. I am a fan of these lipglosses because they tingle and feel good on the lips while making my lips look very plush. My personal preference are matte lipsticks but with lip glosses like these Buxom Lip Creams, I like that they make my lips look bigger. One down fall is when it gets in my hair and gets sticky. Overall, these lip creams are legit! This is also a top-seller at Sephora because when I worked for Sephora, we sold these like crazy…

A Pure de Force…

Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil - Play! by Sephora

Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil

Last but not least, I got the Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil. I’m going to be straight forward here, I love my beauty oils and I’m obsessed with beauty oils. This Argan Oil has been one of my favorite beauty oils of all-time. I’m pretty excited to have another one because I ran out of my full-size one a long time ago and I need to use up my other beauty oils before I purchase any. Now, if you shop at Sephora then you may already know that this travel size oil is already the price of this entire box! I recommend trying a beauty oil and see how it changes your skin as it did mine.

Did you know? Argan Oil is one of nature’s richest forms of essential fatty acids and vitamin E, which is what makes is such a good multitasker.

Try Play! by Sephora for yourself and see what you think…

That is everything I got in my first-ever Play! by Sephora Beauty Box. Overall, this is one of the best subscription boxes I ever received in all of the subscription boxes I have ever tried. I’m going to say this, Sephora is giving everyone with a beauty subscription service a run for their money. I mean all of this for $10 is a great deal.

I know Sephora takes great pride in their packaging and products in general. So far, I’m loving this box and I highly recommend giving this box a go. If you like to get samples from Sephora or shop at Sephora and don’t mind getting samples, definitely give this box a try. I am NOT being paid by Sephora, although I used to work for them, this is just my honest opinions. Sephora is definitely doing something right and I am so thankful they finally came out with a subscription. It’s been long awaited…

xo Brigette.

P.S. Here are some of my favorite beauty oils worth considering…

4 Best Beauty Oils + My Favorite Beauty Oils

by

Hello Beautiful!

I’m sure you’ve been seeing many people rave about their current obsession with beauty and facial oils all over social media. I’m here to share the 4 Best Beauty Oils and my personal favorites with you and why I love them so much. If you’re not already obsessed with beauty oils, you’re probably thinking why I would use oils on my face when I have oily/combination skin and who in their right mind would put oil on their face?! Believe it or not, there’s a lot of benefits in oils that are good for our skin that I also never knew before I started using oils about a year ago. Keep reading to see what and why these oils are my favorite…

JOSIE MARAN 100% PURE ARGAN OIL

Josie Maran Pure Argan Oil

  • This oil is one of the more popular oils in the market! I love this Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil for pretty much everything. I love using it as my moisturizer (or mixed with my other moisturizers and lotions), cuticle oil and/or on my hair for added moisture to my dry ends and sometimes itchy scalp.
  • “Josie Maran Argan Oil is targeted to treat all skin types and is rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids. Argan Oil easily absorbs into the skin keeping you beautiful from head to toe.” (source)
  • TIP: If your skin is dry or needs a healthier glow, add a few drops of this oil to your moisturizer, lotion or foundation to see the results you want.

TARTE PURE MARACUJA OIL

Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil

  • This oil is amazing! I use this oil if my skin needs to look brighter and feel tighter. This Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil is rich in vitamin C which helps my skin appear brighter and feel healthier. Although this oil is thicker than the Argan Oil, it still feels lightweight and absorbs quickly into my skin.
  • “Tarte Maracuja Oil is a undiluted organic and moisturizing oil that quickly absorbs for firmer, brighter, smoother skin. Rich in vitamin C, skin appears instantly brighter and most radiant. This potent anti-aging elixir that anti-inflammatory benefits promotes active skin recovery and delivers maximum hydration without any greasy or filmy feel.” (source)
  • TIP: Same as the Argan Oil… Add a few drops of this oil to your moisturizer, lotion or foundation for a healthier glow.

CAUDALIE DIVINE OIL

Caudalie Divine Oil

  • The most luxurious oil there is! This Caudalie Divine Oil is a multi-tasking moisturizer and can be used all over the face and body. There is a perfume scent to this oil so if you are sensitive to scents or perfumes, I advise you to smell it before you get it. I feel that the smell give this oil a luxurious feel to it; I love it. I use this oil the same way I use the Argan and Maracuja Oil, all over the face and body!
  • “Caudalie Divine Oil is concentrated with moisturizing active ingredients plus antioxidant grape polyphenols and draining ginkgo biloba. This lotion leaves the skin soft, firm, and radiant.” (source)
  • TIP: Spritz 2 pumps on your hands and press into desire area on face or body and feel this luxurious oil absorb into your skin for a softer, radiant glow.

NUDE PROGENIUS TREATMENT OIL

NUDE ProGenius Treatment Oil

  • This is my favorite face oil among the other “multi-tasking” oils I’ve mentioned. The Nude ProGenius Treatment Oil is rich in Omega 3, 6, 7, and 9 giving my skin everything it needs from nourishment and radiance. I use this oil when my face looks as if it needs help looking more radiant and feels like it’s losing suppleness. This oil is also Vegan and is Gluten Free for you beauties with food preferences or allergies.
  • “Nude ProGenius Treatment Oil provides a precisely balanced diet of vital nutrients for luminous and healthy looking skin. The all-absorbing formula delivers deep and long-lasting skin cell nourishment, revealing skin that appears lit from within. (source)
  • TIP: Use 2-3 drops of this oil under or with foundation for added benefits and for healthier looking skin. OR simply use this oil as your moisturizer and watch your skin drink up all the nourishing ingredients it needs.

Did you know that OIL FIGHTS OIL? That’s why I use oil on a daily basis because I’m a oily/combination skin type and I’ve noticed that my skin’s pH is balanced when I apply an oil to my skincare regimen…
Other beauty oils I LOVE but didn’t feature:

  • Josie Maran Cleansing Oil (face)
  • Nude Cleansing Oil (face)
  • Alterna Kendi Oil (hair)
  • L’Occitane Shower Oil (body)
  • Organic Coconut Oil (body and hair)

*NOTE: I add the oil to the palms of my hands and press it into my skin when I use it on my face.

There you have it, my favorite beauty oils! Keep in mind that there are other oils you can use to help boost your skin’s radiance or your skin’s health. I hope I inspired you to try an oil if you haven’t done so and if you decide to try an oil for the first time, try using it at night first to get the gist of how it’ll feel on your skin. Give oils a chance and see how much they will change your skin and your skincare regimen.

Do you use oils too? If so, what oils do you use and why? I’d love to know what oils I should try next.

♥ Brigette.
