Bad Habit Luna Eyeshadow Palette Review

by

it’s a new launch for bad habit beauty!

About a week or two ago, I received this stunning Luna Eyeshadow Collection Palette in the mail courtesy of Bad Habit Beauty as consideration. Although this brand is quite new to me, the shades in the palette are stunning. In this post, I will include my thoughts, product photos as well as swatches of the shades in the palette.

Bad Habit Beauty Luna Eyeshadow Collection Palette

Bad Habit Beauty Luna Eyeshadow Collection Palette

what is the luna eyeshadow collection palette?

The Bad Habit Beauty Luna Eyeshadow Palette (retail: $16 USD) is inspired by the magical hues of a moonlit night. With 14 super pigmented shades, the eyeshadows range from dazzling pearl to silky matte finishes. The palette includes colors from neutrals to vibrant violet shades that have a creamy, blendable and buildable formula that can work for both day and night looks. Available online at badhabitbeauty.com

The shades this palette includes are:
Crescent (matte ivory)
Waxing (matte burnt orange)

High Tide (rose gold)
Waning (metallic sparkling sand)
Aphelion (matte coffee brown)
Eclipse (metallic wine with bronze color shift)

how to apply – application tips

Like most sparkly shadows, when it comes to the application of the dazzling pearl finish eyeshadows, I found that they apply better with synthetic fiber brushes or any dense eyeshadow brush. Using a synthetic fiber brush or any dense eyeshadow brush, it will help pack on more of the eyeshadow thus making the color payoff more true to the shade in the palette. You can also pack on the shimmery shades with your fingers for a more precise application as well.

I’ve noticed that the other shades apply well with any brushes. Like all other eyeshadows, I would definitely recommend using a primer or base under these eyeshadows to get the most true-to-color payoff possible. I mean, this palette is too gorgeous to not get the most out of it.

final thoughts/verdict?

When I first received this palette, I didn’t know what to expect and once I opened the palette to take a peek, I literally fell in the love with the shades. After playing with the shades and creating a few makeup looks, I know I will definitely be using this palette quite a lot this coming fall and winter season. This palette has the perfect warm shades for fall and the perfect sparkling and deeper shades for the winter season. I’m excited to create more looks!

I personally do not own the Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Eyeshadow Palette but I’ve seen quite a few comparisons between the two palettes. Although I love the ABH palettes I own, I know the price point of the Luna Eyeshadow palette is more reasonable and up my ally when it comes to the price point. With that being said, if you’re looking for a more affordable palette that is similar and almost identical to the ABH Norvina Eyeshadow Palette, I would highly suggest giving this one a shot.

application tips

EYESHADOW PALETTE: The eyeshadows are creamy and I didn’t notice fall out each time I used the palette. All of the eyeshadows apply well alone with no eyeshadow base but if you would like your eyeshadows to pop and appear more intense, I would suggest using the Urban Decay Primer Potion before applying the eyeshadows. You can also sprits your brush with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray that is featured in this collection to help intensify these shadows as well. I personally don’t mind applying these shadows without a primer though.

VICE LIPSTICKS: Just like the other Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks, these are creamy and highly pigmented. These can be worn alone but I do suggest applying some kind of lip liner underneath to create some kind of dimension to your lips.

EYE PENCILS: If you haven’t tried these, let me just mention that these eyeliners are really WATERPROOF! Before I go on a tangent, let me just say that these eye liners are creamy to the touch and are filled with so much pigment that one swipe will give you the intensity that you need. These eyeliners are super blendable but just know that once it sets, IT SETS! What I wanted to mention earlier was that I use the Urban Decay Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero and Perversion on all of my makeup clients and it lasts all day! These are a Pro Makeup Artist staple!

final thoughts/recommendations

I LOVE IT because there is something for everyone! This collection has everything you will need for any makeup look and the palette literally has every shade you need to bring on a trip. As far as the eyeliners and vice lipsticks, if you don’t think any of the shades in this collection is something you are not interested in or simply think it will not work for you, there are a ton of other shades in both the vice lipsticks and the glide-on eye pencils for you to choose from from the Urban Decay permanent line of cosmetics.

If I had to recommend one item for you to pick up, it will definitely be the eyeshadow palette. Simply because it has 21 shades that are versatile and you can create a ton of looks. I love the huge mirror – it’ll be convenient when you take it with you anywhere! Also, the packaging is inspiring and can serve as a motivation to travel the world!

Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Review

by

It’s an invisible sunscreen!

Oh my goodness! I have a super cool product that I want to share with you. You may have already seen this “sunscreen” everywhere because it’s been available in the market for quite some time now but this was definitely brand new to me. I know, you’re probably thinking that I’ve been living under a rock for a bit and I sure have been. *laughs out loud*

I also did my first Chit Chat “Get Ready With Me”/First Impressions YouTube video of 2018 and I tried this sunscreen for the first time on there and I was shocked. You can see my first and raw reaction of the product in that video as well. I will link the video on the bottom of this post for you to check out when you have time.

Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF40

Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF40

What is it?

The Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF40 ($32.00 USD for 1.7 fl oz/50ml) is an invisible, weightless, innovative sunscreen that smooths and preps skin for makeup while providing full spectrum SPF 40 protection. The formula glides onto the skin providing oil and shine control, leaving a velvety, makeup-gripping finish.

More about this product: “The ingredient, Red Algae helps protect against the harmful effects of Blue Light, the light emitted from our phones and computers, while the Meadowfoam Seed Oil increases skin hydrating for a more even skin texture – with or without makeup.” – Supergoop

You can find this product at sephora and supergoop

REVIEW – THE VERDICT?

If you missed my recent YouTube “Get Ready With Me/First Impressions” video, let me just say that I was shocked that this Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen was invisible. This sunscreen DID NOT leave a “white cast” on my face which was also shocking because I’m so used to wearing a sunscreen that leaves a white cast on my face. So two thumbs up for it being invisible.

Also, this sunscreen is made to work as a foundation primer and in my GRWM/First Impressions video, I used it as a primer and it DID NOT interfere with the application of my foundation. Another huge plus! As far as the texture, I would compare it to the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer – it feels nice and silky and leaves my skin looking nice and smooth.

If you are not a fan of dimethicone or “silicone textures” in products, this product is not for you. I personally don’t mind the texture as it helps fill in my pores and leaves a smooth finish on my face. With my experience as a makeup artist, some of my clients are not fans of dimethicone or cannot tolerate dimethicone-filled products because of how it affects their skin. So please know that depending on your preference, this Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40 may or may not work for you. 🙂

Overall, I’m obsessed with this product as it works to protect my skin and works as a foundation primer. It’s like have two products in one. Double thumbs up from me!

Urban Decay Waterproof Full Coverage Concealer

The formula consists of a blendable ultra-pigmented formula that controls shine and masks imperfections for up to 24 hours. This concealer claimes handle all of the hardest-to-hide trouble spots like dark circles, blemishes and discoloration.

packaging and application details

The Urban Decay All Nighter Concealer comes in a gorgeous bottle that is identical to the Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation that features a metallized gunmetal effect with asymmetrical cutouts. The packaging was made intentionally as it is meant to be practical and travel-friendly. The angled flocked paddle applicator has a well at the tip that helps provide a precise application to lay down the product exactly where you need it.

A little goes a long way with this concealer as it is filled with pigment. With this concealer, it is recommended to be used after the foundation application. All you need is a TINY amount to conceal troubled areas or to brighten under your eyes and to get the best results, tap the concealer into your skin using your finger or a synthetic concealer brush.

Make Up For Ever extended their shades!

If you haven’t seen my post of the first launch of Make Up For Ever’s Artist Liquid Matte Lipsticks, they launched their first 6 shades in this collection months agao and I recommended picking at least one shade to try… And now Make Up For Ever introduced 9 more shades in addition to the 6 shades they released months ago. The shade extension has more bright and vibrant colors for the bold and daring folks that want that extra oomph to their look.

Instead of taking full product photos, I did a quick 1-minute video on Instagram showcasing the new shades instead. 🙂 My thoughts about these Artist Matte Liquid Lipsticks remain the same and I’m still obsessed with them. If you’d like to see my full review, see my first post about the first 6 shades here.
